Biography
Nikolay Simakov is a Computational Scientist at the University at Buffalo's Center for Computational Research, where he has been since 2012. He holds a doctorate in Computational Chemistry from Carnegie Mellon University, and a bachelor's and master's in Applied Physics and Mathematics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
Research
Development, implementation, and application of computational methods in biology, chemistry, and physics, and the optimization and parallelization of scientific programs for conventional clusters, supercomputers, and GPU-based systems. Core developer of the XDMoD Application Kernel for HPC performance monitoring and of the Slurm Simulator for HPC workload modeling.
